Bricks

Honor your loved one or celebrate a special occasion with an engraved brick inset into the footprint of MSU’s beautiful landscape at the donor plaza between lots 39 and 40. Bricks are either 4x8 or 8x8 inches in size with fourteen characters of engraving on each line (three lines on 4x8 and five lines on 8x8). Your brick will be nestled into a memorable location.

Currently bricks are being placed between lots 39 and 40 in the historical marker pavilion of our Donor Plaza. Located between the Engineering building and International Center (East and West Shaw median). The cost is $250 per brick for 4"x8" and $500 for 8"x8".

Process

The process is simple and interactive; you’ll be involved in the following steps. Because this purchase is significant for you, we want to work together to ensure success.

  1. Review Terms and Conditions (Word document download)
  2. Complete the form to provide details of the request and make a deposit.  
  3. The request will be reviewed and you’ll be contacted to discuss the details and finalize the purchase.
  4. Once work is completed you’ll be mailed a photo and certificate of authenticity with each brick purchase.

FAQ

Yes. Please fill out the application and note your intent to purchase more than one commemorative item. There is a 5% discount for the purchase of two or more commemorative items. 

Bricks are placed multiple times each year in a batch with other commemorative bricks. The number of total program orders received will determine the frequency.

Infrastructure Planning and Facilities maintains hard surfaces including snow removal and repair as needed, including power washing and grouting. 

Broken bricks will be repaired or replaced at no cost to the donor during the ten (10) year guarantee period.

Commemorative bricks are guaranteed for ten (10) years.

Infrastructure Planning and Facilities will move commemorative bricks when new buildings or structures would displace them.  

Equipment or storm-damaged bricks will be replaced at no cost to the donor during the guarantee period.
